If you are lucky enough to get an NHS prescription, then this will be completely free - with the exception of Prescription Tax if
you have to pay for your prescriptions.
Privately, on non NHS prescription:
LDN Liquid 1mg/1ml is around £18.50 for 28 days supply.
LDN Capsules 3 and 4.5mg are £30 for a months supply.
This includes a dispensing fee and postal costs (Postal costs may vary if requested Special Delivery Next Day or International Postage).
How should i take it?
When starting for the first time, you should always begin with the Liquid Formulation if possible.
This allows you to start taking 1mg and gradually increase your dose to the maximum tolerated.
This will be different for everyone, but is generally 3mg or 4.5mg.
Your doctor will specify how quickly to increase your dose, but generally, increasing your dose by 0.5mg every 14 days should be OK.
How should my doctor prescribe LDN?
For LDN Liquid:
On the NHS, doctors should specify:
"Naltrexone 50mg tablets, extemp disp in pharmacy to liquid 1mg/1ml, send 28days supply - take XXmg daily"
This will generally pass as a standard extemp on the NHS and will not usually be treated as a "special".
The cost to the NHS should be £18.50, if you send the prescription to us.
On private prescription:
"LDN Liquid 1mg/1ml. Send 28days supply. Take XXmg daily. Repeat X times"
For LDN Capsules:
Both NHS and Private prescriptions should read:
"Low Dose Naltrexone Capsules 3mg / 4.5mg - take one daily x send 28"
How will I receive my LDN?
When you order your prescription, you can ask your doctor to post it directly to us.
If they are unable to do that, send it to us yourself - and we will dispense and send you your LDN.
The first time your receive your LDN, you will be sent an invoice - with a customer account number, this allows you to call us on:
0141 404 6545
and make payment for your LDN.
With your LDN liquid, you will receive an ORAL SYRINGE:
This will allow you to measure your dose accurately. There is a clear instruction leaflet provided.
My own doctor will not prescribe LDN, can I still get a prescription from someone else?
Yes, there are many doctors in the UK willing to prescribe LDN privately.
Your own GP does not have any requirement to prescribe an unlicensed product such as LDN - so many people use external specialists to get a prescription.
You should always inform your own doctor that you are taking LDN and how you got a prescription for it.
